School-based therapy is most effective when movement, cognition, communication, and participation are addressed together—not in isolation. This 5.5-hour interactive webinar is designed for occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech-language pathologists seeking to embed educational relevance into every therapy interaction.
Participants will explore how posture, head control, mobility, and adaptive equipment directly influence access to learning, communication, social engagement, and independence across the school day. Moving beyond discipline-specific silos, this session emphasizes how integrating PT, OT, SLP, and educational strategies can accelerate progress in both motor and academic domains.
This course addresses the full spectrum of learners—from students with significant medical and physical complexity requiring adaptive equipment and environmental supports, to students with mild motor or postural challenges that subtly impact attention, endurance, and classroom performance.
Through case-based discussion, practical examples, and application-driven strategies, participants will learn how to:
Embed cognitive and academic goals into movement-based interventions
Align therapy with IEP-driven educational outcomes
Support participation across real school contexts including classrooms, transportation, playgrounds, and transitions
Use positioning, mobility, and environmental supports to enhance engagement and independence
Collaborate effectively across disciplines to maximize student outcomes
Participants will leave with immediately applicable strategies that can be implemented the next day to improve function, participation, and measurable progress in their students.
