What is Dr. Joel Warshowsky’s method in behavioral optometry?
Dr. Warshowsky’s approach focuses on identifying and treating visual processing problems through vision therapy, not just correcting eyesight with glasses. His method uses targeted exercises and tools to retrain how the brain and eyes work together, helping children improve skills like focusing, tracking, depth perception, and visual understanding. The goal is to remove visual barriers that can affect learning, concentration, and confidence, even when standard eye exams show “perfect” vision.
Why is Dr. Warshowsky considered a leader in pediatric behavioral optometry?
Because his work bridges clinical care, education, and everyday practice. Dr. Warshowsky doesn’t just treat children in the exam room, he focuses on giving parents, teachers, and therapists the tools to understand and support visual development in real-world settings. That broader, collaborative approach has helped shape how vision therapy is used beyond optometry offices and into classrooms and therapy programs, which is why his influence extends well past his own patients.
