It is unique in its combination of both hands-on techniques and demonstrations of physical exercises, to be used at home as remediation, alongside guidance and emotional support for parents so that they have tools, along with their own intuition, to deal with different behaviors and challenges.
She is the author of the groundbreaking parenting book ‘The Parent-Child Dance’: A Guide to Help You Understand and Shape Your Child’s Behavior. Miriam's occupational therapy practice, The Thrive Group, has locations in New York and New Jersey. The practice specializes in helping children, adults, their families, and educators with behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and physical challenges.
She conducts interactive educational workshops and presentations worldwide including universities, therapist conferences, as well as numerous educational and professional venues. She is the former legislative co-chair of the New Jersey Occupational Therapy Association and New Jersey representative for the representative assembly of the American Occupational Therapy Association. In 2013, she won the CBS Radio Women’s achievement award and has been awarded Top Doctor’s in New Jersey award for four consecutive years. Miriam is a certified Level-4 Tomatis consultant.
