This course is designed for therapists who evaluate and treat children in both school and private practice settings. The amount of therapy tools, tests, printable worksheets, and protocols are too many for any one person to consume. In fact, we often get so focused on the how of treating that we forget the bigger picture and the functional impact goals should have. However, a focused strategy for building a better clinical profile of a child can drastically influence your clinical reasoning, choice of materials, and how you approach each treatment session. This is what will be covered during this 2-day course.
The “roadmap” to treatment is never a straight line despite what protocols would have you believe. Children are complex multi-sensory beings with big personalities. The complexity of each child’s profile is not contained in a label, or even multiple labels. You will learn how to see each child as a sensory being, striving to learn in a world that demands more adaptability than ever. Gathering data and functional information, you will be able to build a roadmap for treatment that builds both confidence and competence for the children on your caseload.
**Therapists are asked to submit at least 1 case study prior to the course for review and possible inclusion. With appropriate consent, video submissions are also requested but not required of evaluation/testing and/or treatment session clips to facilitate a program customized to participant experiences and practice settings.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any special needs requests at least 2 weeks prior to the webinar
