This action-packed full-day workshop helps teachers and therapists merge the most current research on brain development, the learning brain, and mindfulness to create simple yet powerful ways to work with students of all ability levels. Participants will learn the neurological and psychological benefits of mindfulness, the ability to think about thinking and focus attention, and how that can be implemented to promote not only overall emotional health but increased academic learning. Additionally, mindful movement activities such as Yoga, Tai Chi, and mindful movement games will be shared to promote increased sensory integration, balance, and stability.
Chocked full of resources, references, and immediately usable games and activities, this course will leave teachers and therapists able to begin implementing strategies the very next day! By providing both the WHY and the HOW of incorporating mindfulness and yoga into classroom and therapy sessions, attendees will be able to effortlessly integrate simple strategies into daily routines.
Participants will also learn several breathing techniques that can serve as quick “reset buttons” for an emotionally-disrupted brain. Finally, professionals will learn the value of their own mindfulness/self-care practices in preventing burnout and remaining calm in stressful situations.
This continuing education program is available to all physical therapists and physical therapist assistants in the state of NJ, NY, CT, and all 50 states in the US on a non-discriminatory basis
